Allergy Friendly Vegan Peach Sherbet Recipe – Simply Southern Mom (2024)

Written by Pam Published on

One of my favorite summertime treats is homemade ice cream. Then the baby developed severe food allergies. She wanted to eat the same things we do, but with her dairy allergy ice cream was out. I began experimenting to create an ice cream the entire family would enjoy. I tried one of our favorite ingredients-peaches- and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Sometimes these accidental discoveries make the best recipes! When I (unwisely) told my family this was an allergy-friendly vegan peach sherbet recipe and gave everyone a bowl, I was met with some skepticism. “Is it good?” they asked warily. The comments of “Hey! This is good!” after they tasted it let me know that I would be keeping this recipe in circulation all summer.

This recipe has only four ingredients and is no churn! If you keep the ingredients on hand you can whip up a batch of this in around five minutes. It’s great for unexpected guests. I used a package of frozen peaches, but since peach season will be here shortly, you can use fresh peach slices if you freeze them until they are firm. I keep one banana in the freezer at all times for smoothies and recipes like this. Tip: Remember to peel it first before placing it in the freezer. Those bags of overripe bananas you find on clearance in the store are perfect for this recipe.

It’s an easy way to give the water you need to stay hydrated this summer a fun kick. But, they’re not just for water. You can use these for all sorts of recipes. Mix them with vanilla yogurt or coconut yogurt and you’ve got an easy fruit dip. Or mix it with sugar-free vanilla pudding, add some fruit and you have a parfait! The SweetLeaf Stevia WaterDrops Water Enhancers come in a convenient 2.1-ounce squeeze bottle so you can keep a bottle in the car or in your purse for a quick kick to your water. Tip: Since these water drops contain stevia, you’ll only need a little per bottle of water to add flavor. The SweetLeaf Stevia WaterDrops Enhancers are now available at Publix stores!
