Thanks to its much better battery life, the iPhone 15 Plus is arguably the better phone overall, but it also costs more, and not everyone will want its larger screen. Overall though, these are very similar handsets, so if you like one you'll probably like the other too.
TL;DR: Both phones offer similar performance and battery life. If you frequently game or find yourself wishing your current phone had more battery life, the 15 Pro is the way to go. Otherwise, the 15's performance is just fine.
The main differences between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max lie in their display size, camera capabilities, and battery life. The Pro Max offers a larger screen, enhanced camera features, and longer battery endurance, making it ideal for power users or photography enthusiasts.
The iPhone 15 Plus is just big. It's worth knowing that it may be a little difficult to get around the interface single-handedly, and we're aware that could be a deal-breaker for some. One good thing, though, is that Apple has slightly “contoured” the edges of the handset so you'll find it more comfortable to hold.
Both iPhones boast new, upgraded displays compared to their predecessors, but the difference between each other is limited to size and resolution. Naturally, the 15 Plus gets the bigger display with a higher resolution to match but retains the same 460 ppi as its smaller counterpart.
The cost far outweighs the handful of new features. However, if you're on an iPhone 12 which Apple discontinued recently and are looking at the iPhone 15 series, then the iPhone 15 Plus is the one to buy. It gets new features such as Dynamic Island although the display is still stuck at 60Hz.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is not just the best camera iPhone but will likely end up being the best camera smartphone overall and is the right choice for those who want nothing but the best. If you are a gamer, go with the Pro Max, which not only offers a smoother display but is also capable of running AAA titles.
Pros: fast, good camera, good screen now with dynamic island, great size, USB-C, great battery life, long software support, Face ID. Cons: no telephoto camera, screen slower than competition and 15 Pro, no always-on display mode, dull colour choice, more repairable design restricted by software locks.
Factor in the iPhone 15's new capabilities, such as its ability to capture higher resolution photos, its compatibility with USB-C charging cables and the more useful Dynamic Island that replaces the notch, and you've got a compelling upgrade. The bottom line: The answer is a clear yes.
Both iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 deliver impressive performance. However, the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip on iPhone 15 is a definite upgrade. This superfast A16 Bionic chipset supports all of the phone's advanced features like computational photography, Dynamic Island, and Voice Isolation for phone calls.
While not completely waterproof, the iPhone 15 is water-resistant and capable of handling minor water exposure. Yet, frequent exposure to water can cause faster wear and tear on the device.
As part of our efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2030, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do not include a power adapter or EarPods. Included in the box is a USB‑C Charge Cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.
One of the biggest issues with the iPhone 15 has been overheating. However, this problem was originally reported around the release of the phone, when a lot of people were receiving their new iPhones and setting them up — that's when most of the overheating issues occurred.
Generally speaking, the iPhone 15 Plus is just a larger iPhone 15. It's the same feature-for-feature and spec-for-spec other than the battery, screen, and size. Much more separates the regular iPhones from the Pro models, such as a more powerful new processor and the addition of a telephoto camera in the Pro.
A lot more expensive than corresponding Android alternatives. The display is 60Hz; there is no Always On option, and the bezels are thicker than the Pro models. No charger in the box, and charging isn't particularly fast.
But you should definitely consider upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro Max if you've been hanging on to an older edition of the iPhone, or if you're using the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, or iPhone 14 Pro and want to take advantage of the larger and more vibrant display of the Pro Max model, or its camera features.
As the latest models, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus will last for many years to come and will remain part of Apple's flagship lineup until September 2024, so you can rest assured that something newer and better is not right around the corner.
